Section 00.11.00 ADVERTISEMENT TO BID

The Springfield Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Lead Abatement @ Bay-Sherman Apartments located at 151 Sherman Street project in Springfield, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by One Atlas.   The Project consists of: Lead Abatement @ Bay-Sherman Apartments, Springfield, MA. The work is estimated to cost $60,000. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum Davis-Bacon minimum wage rates. All bids must conform with provisions of Mass. General Law, Chapter 149, Section 44A to 44L inclusive, M.G.L. c.30 § 39M and to minimum wage rates as required by the Davis/Bacon Acts subject to the provisions of 29 CFR 5.5 as amended by the U.S. Department of Labor. The project is subject to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and the Instructions to Bidders. The Springfield Housing Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. General Bids will be received until 2:00 PM on Thursday, 15 February 2024, and publicly opened online, forthwith. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Springfield Housing Authority. Labor and Materials Payment Bond: The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 50% of the total Contract Amount. The cost of the bond shall be included in the bid price. Bonds shall be with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and be acceptable to the Awarding Authority.
