  • ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION PHASE 2

    The SPRINGFIELD HOUSING AUTHORITY, (the Owner and Awarding Authority), invites sealed bids from GENERAL CONTRACTORS for construction of ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION PHASE 2 at its Riverview Apartments development located in Springfield, Massachusetts; in accordance with the documents prepared by Leon Pernice And Associates Inc., AIA, Architects-Planners-Interior Designers, 34 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, West Springfield, Massachusetts.

    The Project (Including Base Bid plus 2 Alternates) consists of comprehensive modernization of six existing elevator systems; two systems located in each of three Buildings on two adjacent sites.

    Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Notice to Proceed for this Project may be issued as much as 90 days from the date the Springfield Housing Authority approves the construction contract.

     The work is estimated to cost $4,482,138.00 including Base Bid and two Alternates.

     Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J and to Federal minimum wage rates as indicated in Section 00.73.43-LABOR REGULATIONS

    This project is being electronically bid (E-Bid).   All bids shall be prepared and submitted online at www.Projectdog.com and received no later than date and time specified below.  Hard copy bids will not be accepted by the Awarding Authority.  For E-Bid Tutorial and instructions, download the Supplemental Instructions To Bidders for Electronic Bid Projects from www.Projectdog.com.  For assistance contact Projectdog, Inc. at 978 499 9014.

    General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAMM) in the category of work GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION and must submit with its Bid a DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement.

     General Bids will be received until 2:00PM on 8 February, 2023 and be publicly opened online, forthwith.

    Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below and must include a current DCAMM Filed Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Filed Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement.

    Filed Sub-bids for the following trades/Sections will be received no later than 2:00 PM on 1 February, 2023 and opened online forthwith.

    Each General Bid and each Filed Sub-bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all Alternates) and made payable to the Springfield Housing Authority.

    A pre-bid conference will be conducted on the Site on 18 January, 2023   at 2:00PM at the parking area East of Building 17, 67-69  Sanderson Street.

  • Invitation for Bids – Intercom Replacement & Front Lobby Renovations

    Section 00.11.00 ADVERTISEMENT TO BID The Springfield Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Intercom Replacement & Front Lobby Renovations project in Springfield, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Architectural Solutions Inc. The Project consists of: Intercom Replacement & Front Lobby Renovations at Tri-Towers (17, 18 & 25 Saab Court), Springfield, MA. The work is estimated to cost $750,000. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J & to minimum Davis-Bacon minimum wage rates. All bids must conform with provisions of Mass. General Law, Chapter 149, Section 44A to 44L inclusive, M.G.L. c.30 § 39M and to minimum wage rates as required by the Davis/Bacon Acts subject to the provisions of 29 CFR 5.5 as amended by the U.S. Department of Labor. The project is subject to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and the Instructions to Bidders. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Springfield Housing Authority. Labor and Materials Payment Bond: The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract Amount. Performance Bond: The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract Amount. The cost of each bond shall be included in the bid price. Bonds shall be with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and be acceptable to the Awarding Authority. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978 568-1167).

    There is a plan deposit of $50.00 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. Plan deposits may be electronically paid or by check. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders (and for one set for sub-bidders, if applicable) upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $50.00 Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to the BidDocs ONLINE Inc., to cover mail handling costs.
